Washington D.C. – A historic meeting, seen as a milestone for strengthening and institutionalizing Nepal–US relations, was held between His Excellency Lok Darshan Regmi, Nepal’s Residential Ambassador to the United States, and Santosh Pahari, the newly elected Senior Vice President of NRNA NCC USA (2025–2027). Participants described the meeting as a “bridge to the future.”

On this occasion, the two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on the challenges, opportunities, and prospects faced by Nepal and the Nepali diaspora.
NRNA NCC USA Senior Vice President Pahari emphasized his core agenda, stating:“NRNs are not outsiders. We are Nepal’s global skills, investments, and love. Unless full rights and participation are guaranteed, the gates to Nepal’s bright future will remain closed. The time has come to grant NRN citizenship unconditionally and to embrace all for the nation’s transformation.”
Ambassador Regmi, for his part, acknowledged the immense value and contribution that NRN citizenship could bring to Nepal and the Nepali people. He expressed his firm commitment to working hand in hand with the diaspora community.
Writing on social media, Santosh Pahari remarked:
“The Ambassador’s warmth, vision, and deep understanding of the community have truly inspired us. Cooperation between the Embassy and the diaspora is the real force that can take Nepal’s economic, social, and cultural ties to new heights.”

New Horizons in Trade, Education, Culture, and Investment

With such joint efforts between the Embassy and NRNA USA, every Nepali voice abroad will be heard and addressed. Observers believe that Nepal–US relations will gain global attention and be further strengthened.
