Early Life and Family Background
Janakpurdham — the cultural capital of Mithila, a land of faith, civilization, and art that has enchanted the world.
It was on this sacred soil that Raju Shah was born — a name whose journey from village to city, from Nepal to abroad, now stands poised to represent thousands of Nepalis living in America.
His permanent address is in Janakpur, Dhanusha District, Nepal.
Born to father Ram Swarth Shah and mother Shanti Shah, Raju inherited honesty, hard work, and a spirit of service from his family.
Education — A Journey of Knowledge
From a young age, Raju had a deep passion for education. He completed his SLC in Janakpur, then pursued +2 education in Kathmandu, further sharpening his academic journey.
His hunger for knowledge crossed borders, taking him to Bangladesh, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
Even while studying abroad, Raju never forgot his roots, his identity, and his community.
Student Leadership — Two-Term President in Bangladesh
While pursuing higher studies, he became actively involved in the Nepalese Students’ Organization in Bangladesh.
Serving as President for two terms, he fought for student rights, unity, and the preservation of cultural identity.
This period was the first real test of his leadership — one that he passed with flying colors.
At the Forefront During the 2015 Earthquake
The devastating earthquake of 2015 (2072 B.S.) shook Nepal to its core — claiming thousands of lives and destroying countless homes.
From Bangladesh, Raju Shah felt the pain of his homeland and immediately stepped forward to act:
- He formed a relief team in Bangladesh.
- Played a decisive role in sending the first batch of medical supplies and a team of doctors to Nepal.
- Personally flew to Nepal, carrying clothes, food, medicine, and distributed them tirelessly.
- Provided school bags, books, and stationery to affected children.
- Contributed financial aid for rebuilding schools destroyed by the quake.
Raju’s actions proved — he is not just a man of words, but a leader who leads from the frontlines.
COVID-19 Pandemic — The Rescue Mission
When the world was struck by the pandemic, thousands of Nepali students and workers were stranded abroad.
In Bangladesh, Raju Shah was one of the key leaders responsible for the safe repatriation of Nepali students back home.
Through coordination, determination, and fearless action, he ensured many Nepali youths were reunited with their families.
Social Service in Nepal
Even after returning to Nepal, Raju continued his social work —
helping communities in need, uplifting youth leadership, and always being there in times of crisis.
A New Journey in America
In 2022, Raju Shah arrived in the United States.
With a new country came new challenges, but his spirit of service remained the same.
He started his own business while simultaneously engaging in the Nepali community in America.
His involvement in NRNA activities, especially youth-focused programs, earned him recognition as a leader with both vision and action.
Why Board of Director?
Raju knows that NRNA is not just an organization — it is a global family of Nepalis.
But in recent years, factionalism, internal conflicts, and declining interest have weakened its popularity.
That is why he has stepped forward as a candidate for the NRNA NCC America Board of Directors for the 2025–2027 term.
His mission is clear — to restore unity, inspire youth, and make NRNA truly representative of all Nepalis abroad.

In America, Nepalis live across all 50 states.
Raju’s vision is to connect, engage, and empower Nepalis in every state equally.
Through regular events, cultural exchange, and direct engagement, he will transform NRNA NCC America into one big family.
Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship
Being an entrepreneur himself, Raju knows the challenges young people face.
He is committed to providing guidance, training, and networks for youth who want to build businesses in the U.S. or Nepal.
His vision is to make NRNA an international platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship.
