Texas, USA – Baburam Kafle, a respected community leader, educator, and social worker based in Texas, has officially announced his candidacy for the Board of Directors of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council, USA (NCC USA) for the 2025–2027 term.
Running under the powerful slogan, “Unity is the Need of the Hour,” Kafle pledges to promote transparency, accountability, inclusivity, and result-oriented leadership within the organization.

Following his announcement, Baburam Kafle has received an outpouring of support and well-wishes from NRNA members, Nepali students, and social activists across the country. His candidacy is seen as a fresh hope for unity and effective leadership within the diaspora community.
From Dolakha to Texas: An Inspiring Journey
Born in Bhirkot, Tamakoshi Rural Municipality–1, Dolakha District, Nepal, Kafle grew up amidst the beauty and challenges of the Himalayan region. He pursued education with dedication and later became a teacher of Nepali language, literature, and grammar in several campuses across Nepal.
His passion for education also led him to write and publish academic books used widely in schools and colleges.
“I began my journey of transformation through education in Nepal. When I came to America, I brought that same spirit of service with a global mindset,” he said.
Arrival in the U.S. and Community Engagement
Kafle moved to Waco, Texas in 2019. From the beginning, he actively participated in local cultural and social initiatives, forming deep connections with the Nepali community.
His key contributions include:
- Active membership in Waco Nepali Society Texas and the Nepali Society of Texas (NST)
- Educational, housing, and financial support for struggling Nepali students
- Organizing events to preserve Nepali language, culture, tourism, and identity
- Engaging in dialogues, seminars, and advocacy efforts for the rights and welfare of the Nepali diaspora
