Lalitpur, Jawalakhel – July 2, 2025–Celebrating the essence of Korean cuisine, culture, and hospitality, K. Food Exhibition–2025 was held in grand style on Wednesday at the Korean BBQ Restaurant in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. Organized under the theme “Experience the Taste of Korea in Nepal!”, the event ran from 4 PM to 7 PM and showcased a delightful array of authentic Korean dishes, cooking demonstrations, and cultural interactions.

The event was led by Mr. Binod Kunwor, Chairman of BINOD Corp and former President of NRNA, who stated that the exhibition aimed to strengthen the cultural and commercial ties between Nepal and South Korea. The event was graced by former Minister and senior Maoist leader Janardan Sharma, who inaugurated the program alongside Mr. Kunwor by exchanging traditional ‘khadas’ (ceremonial scarves).

One of the major highlights of the event was the live demonstration of Korean dishes by professional chefs flown in from South Korea. Visitors had the opportunity to taste traditional favorites such as Stir-Fried Noodles, Korean Fried Chicken, Kimchi, Korean BBQ, and Soju.

Led by Chef Dr. Jhe, the Korean culinary team impressed the crowd with their precision and authenticity. Speaking to the press, the chefs shared, “We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and love for Korean food in Nepal. The hospitality here has been heartwarming.”

Beyond the food tasting experience, the exhibition also featured a showcase of premium Korean food products, culinary equipment, and modern cooking technology. The event saw the participation of representatives from the Korean Embassy, along with Nepali food entrepreneurs, hospitality professionals, and influential food bloggers.

A notable figure at the event was Stefen, a former Standard Chartered Bank employee who left his job in South Korea to pursue a culinary career. His inspiring journey from finance to food added a unique personal dimension to the program.
