YNN | April 29, 2025 —Kathmandu — Former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. NP Saud, delivered a compelling address today as a panelist at a high-level seminar titled “Strengthening Nepal’s Diplomatic Negotiations,” organized by the Centre for Social Innovation and Foreign Policy (CESIF) at Basera Boutique.
Speaking on the panel “Geopolitics and Bilateral Negotiation,” Hon. Saud highlighted the rapidly shifting geopolitical environment surrounding Nepal. He called for enhanced strategic thinking, institutional preparedness, and a cohesive national policy to effectively navigate the complexities of regional and global power dynamics.
“Diplomatic negotiation is not merely about dialogue—it’s about readiness, clarity of national interest, and sustained institutional memory,” Saud stated. He underscored the urgent need to build Nepal’s internal negotiation capacity and strengthen cross-party consensus on key foreign policy issues.
The seminar brought together diplomats, scholars, and policy practitioners to examine Nepal’s current foreign policy tools and identify ways to bolster its international positioning.
